Different approaches to
Teeth Removal
The choice of method depends on the condition and position of the tooth, as well as the comfort for the patient:
Referral
If a case appears complex, if you prefer general anaesthesia, or if you're on certain medications that affect healing or bleeding, we can refer you to a trusted oral surgeon for specialised care.
Surgical extraction
A surgical extraction is more complex and is needed when the tooth is broken, impacted, or not fully erupted. Under local anaesthetic, this approach may involve making a small incision in the gum, and sometimes removing bone or sectioning the tooth into pieces to take it out safely.
Simple Extraction
A simple extraction is used when the tooth is visible in the mouth and can be removed easily with dental instruments under local anaesthetic. This involves gently loosening the tooth and lifting it out of the socket.
