Wisdom teeth removal does not hurt during the procedure due to the anaesthetics used. Generally these anaesthetics will continue to work several hours after the procedure. After these anaesthetics wear off, there may be some mild pain which can be managed with over-the-counter pain medications. This discomfort usually peaks 3 to 4 days after the procedure due to swelling that occurs after tooth removal.
