Will I need x-rays?
Sometimes - x-rays are not required at every visit but are recommended to be performed every 2 years or so. This allows your dentist to assess your teeth for cavities (particularly in between your teeth), gum disease (by assessing bone loss around your teeth and presence of bacterial deposits) or other pathology. In some certain situations, x-rays may be required more or less frequently - your dentist will advise you on what is most appropriate in your situation.
