Will I need to have my fissure seals replaced?
Yes - the forces placed on teeth by chewing, bacteria surrounding the sealant and ongoing saliva and drinks constantly lead to slow degradation of the fissure sealants over time. We perform all possible steps (such as using microabrasive powders to clean the teeth, and placing non-latex isolation sheets around the tooth) to allow your fissure sealant to last as long as possible before replacement is required. Your dentist will review your sealants at your routine dental checkups to ensure they are still doing their job!
