The procedure for deep cleaning is generally pain-free as it is performed under local anaesthesia. When the anaesthetic wears off a few hours following the procedure, there may be some mild discomfort which usually resolves after 3 to 4 days. You may take some pain relief medications (such as ibuprofen or paracetamol) during this time if required.
