All orthodontic treatment will generally cause a mild amount of discomfort due to the gentle pressure placed on the teeth in order to allow them to move. This is usually most noticeable at the start of treatment, where pain relief medication can be used. Most of our patients find that after a few weeks the pressure feels normal and is much less noticeable.
